Privacy policy
Effective 24 October 2026. This policy explains what Verify Campus collects, why, and the choices you have. It is written to follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. Who we are
Verify Campus ("Verify Campus", "we") is an independent, one-stop public-interest information service about Indian higher education, run by Jayasha Holdings. We are the data fiduciary for the personal data described here. You can reach us through the contact page.
2. What we collect
- What you type into our forms. Contact, institution data update, compare access and alerts forms ask for details such as your name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, your message, an institution name, the universities you want to compare, or the states you want alerts for.
- Settings kept only on your device. Text size, colours, language and the document checklist ticks are saved in your own browser. They are not sent to us.
- Technical logs. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, page requested and time) to keep the site secure and working.
- Advertising. When ads are switched on, Google AdSense may use cookies or similar technology to show and measure ads. Google's use is covered by its own policies; you can manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
- Your account, if you create one. Your name, email, optional WhatsApp number and state, a scrambled (hashed) copy of your password, the plans you choose with their dates and payment reference, and your alert settings.
Checking colleges needs no account. We do not currently use analytics tools; if we add any, we will update this page first.
3. Why we use it
- To reply to your message or request.
- To review institution data updates against official sources.
- To provide paid features you ask for, such as access codes and alerts.
- To keep the site secure and prevent misuse.
- To meet legal obligations.
We process form data on the basis of the consent you give when you submit the form. You can withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site (for example, hosting and email), under confidentiality, or when the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
Form submissions are kept for up to 24 months, or less if you ask us to delete them. Alerts sign-ups are kept while your subscription is active and for up to 6 months after it ends. Hosting logs follow the provider's retention period.
6. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, update or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, and nominate another person to exercise your rights. Use the contact page with the topic "Privacy request". We aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
7. Children
Our forms are meant for adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us for you.
8. Security and storage
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and storing form data outside the public website. No method is completely secure. Data may be stored on servers outside India where the law permits.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top will change, and significant changes will be noted on this page.
